Super Hero 2017

Kingston Arts Centre, Melbourne
14 February - 30 October 2017

'Superhero' was a collaborative project I undertook with the Kingston Arts Centre in Melbourne, where twelve adults joined me for a transformative six-hour masterclass at my ClayLAB studio in Cheltenham.

Each participant envisioned a personal superhero, complete with a unique power designed to confront a specific challenge they were facing—whether it was mental health, social injustice, creative blocks, or family issues. Using my ceramic expertise and teaching skills, I guided them through the process of turning their superhero ideas into tangible sculptures.

Over the course of the workshop, participants transformed their struggles into creative expressions, symbolizing their inner strength and resilience. The resulting sculptures reflected not only their newfound artistic skills but also their personal journeys.

The project culminated in an exhibition at the Kingston Arts Centre, celebrating how creativity and support can empower anyone to become the superhero of their own life.
