Monster by Hands 2009

Pong Noi Art Space, Chiang Mai
5-26 April 2009

I had the privilege of being the first artist in residence at Thai Celadon, a family-owned ceramics factory in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand.

This experience led to the creation of a truly collaborative series with the factory's employees. As a studio ceramicist involved in every stage of my process, it was eye-opening to witness how manufacturing segmented each phase for the workers.

In response, I organized workshops where the employees created their own monster-themed artworks from concept to completion.

The resulting exhibition, ‘Monsters by Hands,’ featured portraits of each worker, challenging traditional views of industrialized production and celebrating individual creativity.
