Vipoo Srivilasa Curates "Generation Clay"

Generation Clay: Reimagining Asian Heritage

Renowned ceramicist Vipoo Srivilasa curates "Generation Clay: Reimagining Asian Heritage," an exhibition showcasing the dynamic versatility of clay through the eyes of a new wave of Asian-Australian contemporary artists. This unique collection challenges traditional ceramic forms, offering fresh interpretations that resonate with today's cultural landscape.

The exhibition explores a rich tapestry of themes, from personal histories and cultural narratives to mythological motifs and modern-day influences. Fourteen artists from across Australia have been invited to create original works predominantly in blue and white, symbolic of global movement and timeless pattern traditions.

Central to the exhibition is "The Bloom Room," an interactive space inviting visitors to engage firsthand. Here, participants can craft origami flowers, sculpt miniature clay pieces, and share personal stories, fostering connections with the exhibited artworks and their creators.

Featured artists include Armie Sungvaribud, Asahi So, Casey Chen, Dai Li, EJ Son, Jayanto Tan, Mai Nguyễn-Long, Monica Rani Rudhar, Nani Puspasari, Theodosius Ng, Yang Qiu, Yen Yen Lo, Yoko Ozawa, and Zhu Ohmu.
