Garden of LOVE 2021

The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT10)
Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane
4 Dec 2021—25 April 2022

Is there someone you miss?

In ‘Garden of Love,’ I delve into themes of love, loss, companionship, and loneliness—emotions felt deeply by many during the Covid-19 pandemic, as loved ones were kept apart. This participatory exhibition offers children a way to express their feelings for those they miss most—especially grandparents or extended family—by writing messages or drawing portraits on flower templates. As each flower is added, the garden blossoms and grows.

The project also features Dok Rak, an animated Flower Bear mascot inspired by my flower bear sculptures, created for APT10 Kids. Children are invited to dance along with Dok Rak, making the experience both heartfelt and joyful.
