The Marriage of Sang Thong" series is inspired by a traditional Thai folk tale about Prince Sang Thong and his love Rochana, focusing on the trials they endure before their socially unconventional love is accepted. The works draw parallels between the prince’s journey and the modern struggle for same-sex marriage acceptance.
This story was deeply personal for me, reflecting the situation of same-sex marriage in Australia, where I live, and Thailand, my birthplace. In 2019, I married my husband, making the themes of love and acceptance even more meaningful. The exhibition celebrates love, victory, and the ongoing fight for recognition.
