Hungry Ghost 2022
Scott Livesey Galleries 2022, Melbourne
9 Feb - 5 Mar 2022
In 2021, I lost many friends, and expressing my emotions through art became a way to process grief and understand the world around me. My Hungry Ghost series emerged from this experience, allowing me to explore my sorrow while seeking a more positive perspective on death.
Through my own research, I connected my Thai heritage with other cultural traditions, like Mexico’s Day of the Dead and Japan’s stories of Oni (demons) and Yurei (ghosts). In Thailand, we believe in spirits, and through this work, I try to imagine what a happy ghost might look like, bringing peace and joy to their existence.
