My Sunshine Doesn't Come From The Sky 2022

Confined to home, whilst Melbourne struggled through protracted lockdowns and quarantine restrictions, Srivilasa, began paying considered attention to everyday things he would otherwise neglect or disregard. The forced slowing down and cancellation of professional opportunities made him more mindful of the progression of beauty over instant moments of gratification and the joy to be found in loving something and seeing it thrive.

Srivilasa’s creative refocus on his domestic environment; the company of his two cats, nurturing his garden, and cooking traditional Thai meals eased his homesickness and loneliness. Identifying that the warmth and joy for life doesn’t come as sunshine from the sky, but rather from everyday gratitude of the often-ignored things in life.  My Sunshine Doesn't Come from the Sky celebrates this mindful perspective.
