Create your own mythical creatures from air dry clay with artist Vipoo Srivilasa. Taking inspiration from Mirka Mora’s artworks, you will learn techniques including innovative texturing, hand forming, pinching and clay scissoring.
Bring a photo of your favourite pet as a guide to add more personality to your creature.
Cost is inlusive of all materials and tools.
Vipoo Srivilasa is a Thai born, Melbourne-based artist, curator, and arts activist. Srivilasa is known for his clever, quirky, zoomorphic figures, which blend the artist’s playful spirit and social conscience, just as they blend pop and folk culture. The artist’s work, which is internationally acclaimed, has been featured in biennials in South Korea, France and Taiwan, and collected broadly.

Lucky Charms with Vipoo Srivilasa

Work with master ceramicist Vipoo Srivilasa in his Moorabbin studio ClayLAB to create a ceramic ‘wish’ charm that will be displayed as part of the Lucky charm exhibition.
In this one hour workshop you will work with master ceramicist Vipoo Srivilasa to create a ceramic ‘wish’ charm that will be displayed as part of forthcoming exhibition Lucky charm at the Gallery at Bayside Arts & Cultural Centre. At the completion of the exhibition your charm will be available to take home and will be a beautiful keepsake to treasure and hang during the festive season for years to come.
