The Tom Bass Prize is the first national Australian prize for figurative sculpture.
This important and prestigious Prize is a celebration of the human form and its influence on today’s sculptors and is an acknowledgement of the influence Bass had as one of Australia’s pre-eminent public sculptors.
Vipoo's Deity of Immortal has been selected by the three judges of this years’ prize - Felicity Fenner, Richard Goodwin and Ingrid Morley, as a finalist in the Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture 2018. The judges and organising committee were thrilled with the number of entries (close to 250 Australia wide) and also with the very high quality of works submitted.
Judging was conducted by the three independent judges who selected the finalists purely on merit. There are 45 finalist sculptors. The Tom Bass Prize winner, Youth Prize and Highly Commended will be announced on the 1st of March at the Exhibition Opening in Sydney.
The finalist exhibition will be open to the public from the 2nd March until 25th March 2018.
