I am so please to received a letter from Art Victoria this evening. It said
"I am please to advise that your application to Arts Victoria for financial assitance through the International Program toward a four week residency at the Shaw International Centre for Contemporary Ceramics (Medalta), Medicine Hat, Canada has been successful"
THANK YOU Art Victoria!
The Shaw International Centre for Contemporary Ceramics is a brand new purpose-built ceramics studio situated amongst beehive kilns, a historic china factory, museum and a decommissioned brickyard in Medicine Hat, Canada.
Although the location is in Canada but the residency is focus on South East Asia. The organiser invited me as a lead artist and had asked me to invite five other artists from South East Asia to join the residency. From my extend South East Asia network, I have invited 5 artists from Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
The two main purposes of the project are to increase multi-layered cross-cultural understanding through ceramic arts and to build stronger and deeper relationship with the artists involved and the Shaw Centre.
Stay tune for my report residency report.
